29-09-13                                 CUMNOR MINORS  4  v  HINKSEY PARK  7

After losing their first two games Cumnor were looking to bounce back against a Hinksey team who had won their first two games and scored lots and lots of goals 33 to be exact!!!!!!

Hinksey started the game brightly but it was Cumnor who this week got the early breakthrough when HARRY got on to a long throw from DOM and pulled the ball back for CAM to turn in, unfortunately the lead didn't last long when a shot from the edge of the area arrowed into the net and Hinksey had the equaliser, three minutes later Hinksey went 2-1 up but Cumnor were never going to lie down and after some great defending went up the field and made it 2-2 with CAM shooting past the keeper from just inside the area, Hinksey then took the lead again when a cross came in and then a bit of a dodgy challenge on ADAM was headed in,but yet again Cumnor bounced back when this time CAM turned the ball back for HARRY to turn in 3-3 HT........... phew!!!
In the second half the Cumnor management made some positional changes hoping this would have a positive impact and Cumnor could go on and win the game!!
UNFORTUNATELY this didn't work and Cumnor conceded 3 goals in the first 8 minutes of the second half! at now 6-3 down Cumnor had to push forward and did pull another goal back on 55 minutes when a free-kick from DOM  was turned in by CAM for his hatrick, Cumnor then had a real go and had a couple of chances to pull it back even more but didn't take them and Hinksey scored their 7th catching Cumnor on the break.....................FT 4-7.
Again this was another game that swung both ways and one that the boys of Cumnor should not be to down hearted about Hinksey are a strong side and Cumnor gave them a real game with some great performances from COOKIE,MEHMET,JAMIE and JOHN at the back all of which never gave up with HARRY,CAM,MATTHEW and DOM causing problems upfront GEORGE M,GUY and WILSON battling away in midfield and of course ADAM who always plays for the team and gives everything every match no matter what is thrown at him.
KEEP YOUR HEADS UP BOYS AND STAY POSITVE.
Man of the Match:- COOKIE(JAMES) great battling in the midfield and defence
cheers Mark.
