20-10-13                                   SUMMERTOWN  3  v  CUMNOR MINORS  2

After the success of last week Cumnor were looking to build on that win and move on forward and up the league,Summertown had started their season well and were also looking to carry on in same vain.

Both teams started the game slowly and neither goalkeeper had much to do in the first 15 minutes not until ADAM had to pick the ball out of the back of his net on 17 minutes and do the same again 2 minutes later when a ricochet fell nicely for Summertown and they were 2 up, DOM then hit the crossbar from a cross come shot, Cumnor then did pulled a goal back when GEORGE D weaved his way through and slid the ball to TOM who finished well to bring Cumnor back into the game after 25 minutes,  Cumnor were now more in the ascendancy and were putting more and more pressure on the Summertown defence and were nearly rewarded when CAM came close to the equaliser just before half-time, but at HT it was  2-1 Summertown.
The inevitable changes to the team in the second half  happened with 3 subs coming on for Cumnor who needed to start the second half brightly and get the equaliser as quickly as possible, HARRY then hit the bar soon after the break but the leveller came when the impressive WILSON crossed from the left for HARRY to flick on for CAM to bury in to the net, 2-2 and with 20 minutes left to play Cumnor were looking to win the game........................chance after chance after chance came and went and with DOM stopping everything at the back it only looked like a matter of time before Cumnor got the their third goal!!...............................Summertown then took the lead with 4 minutes to go!!! and Cumnor then threw everything at Summertown but again the goalkeeper and near misses prevented them from getting their deserved equaliser and time ran out,FT 3-2.
Probably our most disappointing result of the season having very much the best chances and a lot of the play it was frustrating to come away with nothing, but we live to fight another day and team will bounce back.
Man of the Match:- JOHN for some great work at the back and for a solid start to his Cumnor career
