10-11-13                                     GROVE   4   v   CUMNOR MINORS   3

After  a couple of weeks off  and the disappointment of the Summertown game Cumnor were looking to bounce back with their second win of the season against a team who have had some decent results so far this season and were pushing their way up the table.

The match started as a midfield battle with neither team having a clear opportunity, that's was until CAM followed up HARRYS shot but only for the goal to be ruled offside!!!!!!! Cumnor were defending well with DOM and JOHN looking solid in the centre and MEHMET playing well at left back and playing some great balls down the left wing for JAMIE and CAM to run onto, Cumnor then struck after 25 mins and got the first goal of the game when a cross from DOM was headed powerfully in to the net by CAM, it looked like Cumnor were going in at half time one up but a good finish from the Grove forward on 33 minutes gave them the equaliser......HT 1-1.
Straight from the kick off Cumnor played 8-9 nice passes finishing with a great through ball from MATTHEW but unfortunately CAM couldn't apply the finish, the game was still end to end and some how the scores stayed level thanks to a great goal line clearance from DOM but Grove did grab the lead when scoring on the break, Cumnor responded well with DOM pushing into midfield and TOM and HARRY going up front with CAM dropping into the back four, and they were rewarded when WILSON skilfully controlled the ball and drifted in to the box before finishing calmly past the keeper to make it 2-2, three minutes later Cumnor were in the lead when DOM smashed a 25 yarder into the net, and with 15 minutes left the game was still in the balance, and after HARRY hit the post and the follow up from TOM was cleared off the line..Grove got the equaliser when a foul on CAM was not awarded and the forward was allowed to go on and score!!! and with 3 minutes left Grove then scored the winner!!! and again Cumnor were left CRESTFALLEN,FT 4-3.

The Cumnor players gave everything and deserved at least a point but yet again were so close but yet so far, NO ONE can criticize the effort the squad put in and they will get that bit of luck which is evading them at the moment KEEP YOUR HEADS UP BOYS.
Man of the Match:-DOM for a all round top performance.

WILL THE CUMNOR COACH HAVE ANY HAIR LEFT BY THE END OF SEASON????
