17-11-13 CUMNOR MINORS 6 v ROTHERFIELD RATTLERS 2
After the disappointment of the past few weeks Cumnor were due a slice of luck and a good performance rewarded,they were playing at home at(Westminster college) for the first time against Rotherfield Rattlers..............................game on!!!!
Cumnor started the game well ploughing their way through the grass to attack the Rattlers goal and where rewarded when some nice passing was finished off by CAM, Cumnor then should have doubled their lead but didn't take their chances and were punished when the defence stopped when thinking the ball had gone out for a throw but instead was crossed into the area for the Rattlers to get the equaliser(play to the whistle boys!!!)BUT Cumnor were back in the lead soon after when HARRY calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net from 10 yards out and they finished the half on a high when JAMIE scrambled the ball home from close range, HT 3-1.
Changes to personnel in the second half and Cumnor were looking a little bit disjointed and Rothefield pulled a goal back 3 minutes into the half,Cumnors management made some changes and with both CAM and DOM at the back the defence were looking a lot more solid, Cumnor managed to score 3 more goals in the half 2 well taken goals from HARRY giving him his hatrick and JAMIE getting his second to make the final score 6-2 to Cumnor.
Probably not Cumnors best performance of the season BUT probably the most important,the boys have deserved this and have given 100% each game with no reward and all credit to them for not letting their heads drop and staying positive throughout this period, very well done to, ADAM,CAM,GEORGE D,GUY,COOKIE.DOM,JAMIE,GEORGE M MEHMET,WILSON,JOHN,MATTHEW TOM and HARRY. Keep it up lads.
Man of the Match:- Harry,a great hatrick and all round team performance.
