24-11-13                                  DRATON WASPS   1       v     CUMNOR MINORS  1

After their terrific second win of the season last weekend Cumnor were looking to carry on in winning ways against a Drayton team full of familiar faces!!!!!

From the start of the game it was obvious that this was going to be a midfield battle with JAMIE playing in front of the back four and DOM upfront, Cumnor again were trying a different system!!!TOM and HARRY were battling away in the middle and Drayton were only looking dangerous on the counter attack but JOHN and CAM were both keeping the forwards quiet and Cumnor were becoming the more  likely to get the opening goal, which came on 27 minutes when DOM had a shot which ran nicely for COOKIE to finish off 1-0,ADAM then made a great save from an in swinging free kick and Cumnor finished the half looking in control of the game.HT1-0.
Cumnor were looking to build on their lead in the second half  BUT it was Drayton who got the equaliser when a shot from 20 yards flew into the top corner of the net, with still 30 minutes left to play the game again was wide open and with both teams looking to get the win, it was Cumnor who were putting the pressure on with some great battling all around the pitch but were not helped by some dodgy referring decisions!!!!and they did win a penalty for hand ball...........the kick was missed!!!!(by Jamie)............still there was time for Cumnor to get the winner,  and chances came and went(the same old story) and they were nearly caught out in the last minute but the whistle went and the game was over ending in a 1-1 draw.
Yet again Cumnor will feel this was 2 points dropped rather than a point gained but can again be proud of giving everything and not getting the breaks they deserved.
Man of the Match:-JAMIE for a great battling performance and not letting his head drop.
Special mention:-MEHMET for another great defensive display.
Extra special mention:-to the Drayton supporters who cheered a 13yr old missing a penalty, they must be really pleased with themselves ,well done!!!!!
cheers Mark.
                                                                NEXT TIME EH!!!!!!
