15-12-13                              CROWMARSH COMETS  2   v    CUMNOR MINORS  0

Our last game in 2013 and both management, players and parents were hoping we could finish on a high with a trip into unknown territory against Crowmarsh (Wallingford)!!!!!!!!!

Playing on a postage stamp/allotment!!,sorry..... I mean a small pitch, the game started with Cumnor playing 4-1-4-1 which seemed to be quite successful in their last match, the match started as very much a midfield battle with neither team really getting a foot hold in the game and both teams were being restricted to a few half chances, only Cumnor going close with a scramble in the box which didn't fall for them(surprise, surprise) and Crowmarsh cleared the danger, the half time whistle blew and both teams felt this game was very much up for grabs.

The second half started with Cumnor making their inevitable three changes to personnel and change of formation!!Nothing much changed in the second half with no really clear chances, that was until a free-kick was squeezed in at the near post by Crowmarsh and the home team were ahead,2 minutes later it was 2-0 when a shot from just inside the area found the corner of net, Cumnot tried to get back into the game with a couple of good chances which they couldn't convert and then CAM hit the post but there was no follow up and Cumnor had lost the game.  FT 2-0.

Cumnor have played a lot better than this and maybe the pitch/late arrivals and late nights had something to do with it!!!!!!!!!!, and a ref who awards free kicks for shoulder BARGING but not for studs very high!!!(check out DOMS leg for evidence)............. AM I BITTER?..............YEP.

Man of the Match:- George M  For another great defensive display and a real captains performance

Lets all look forward to a New Year with positive results and more great team spirit.

cheers and Happy Christmas to you all.

Above ................    A Christmas gift idea for some of our parents!!(only joking)
