23-03-14                          CUMNOR MINORS  5  v  MILTON UTD  1

With two wins on the bounce Cumnor came into the game with real confidence and were hoping to give Milton a team who having been flying high all season a real game!!

From the off Milton attacked and CAM made a great goal saving tackle to prevent them from taking a early lead and Cumnor were under a lot of early pressure......BUT from Cumnors first attack DOM won a free kick, HARRYS attempt was turned round the post and and from the resulting corner DOM rose at the back post to head home, 1-0 Cumnor, Milton kept up the pressure but again it was Cumnor who got the goal when a throw from MEHMET fell nicely to COOKIE to steer home 2-0!!Cumnor then were three up when DOM drilled in a free-kick into the bottom of the net, Cumnor conceded a goal just before halftime when failing to clear a long throw into the box, the halftime whistle went and the Cumnor boys were very much holding their own and playing great, HT 3-1.
With only one change to the team for the start of the second half Cumnor started on the ascendancy with both CAM,WILSON and HARRY all going close, and with the defence of GEORGE M,JOHN,MEHMET and DOM looking very solid and restricting Milton to long range efforts and they made their pressure count when HARRY drifted in to the box and shot past the keeper to make it 4-1, with all the midfield battling away  GUY,JAMIE,COOKIE and HARRY not giving Milton a chance to create anything Cumnor nearly made it five when MEHMET smashed a 30 yard shot against the bar, with WILSON chasing upfront and causing the Milton defence problems and late appearances from MATTHEW and TOM Cumnor were seeing the game out comfortably and rounded off a great display by scoring a fifth when HARRY swung in a corner for DOM to guide into the net and grab his hatrick.......FT  5-1.

A fantastic all round team performance, ............at last we are getting the results we deserve,      WELL DONE LADS

Man of the Match:-  MEHMET for a great defensive display and supporting of the midfield

A 5-1  VICTORY.......................WE LOVE IT!
