30-12-2014                   OX CUP 1ST RD         CUMNOR MINORS 7  v  FARINGDON  2

With the absence of 1 or 2 players and 1or 2 injury worries Cumnor went into the cup game confident but a little bit apprehensive!

The game started very well for Cumnor when a free-kick swung in by HARRY was turned in by CAM for one nil, the next 20 minutes Cumnor were looking a bit disjointed and were struggling to play any football on the long grass and muddy pitch but finally got their second goal when a great run from JAMIE was tap in by CAM coming in at the far post, three minutes later CAM had his hatrick when he finished calmly past the keeper after getting on the end of great through ball from RONAN, Cumnor then scored another soon after when MATTHEW fired the ball in to the top corner of the net for his first goal of the season (his first for Cumnor)and suddenly Cumnor were in cruise control and just before halftime MATTHEW shot went in off the post to make it 5-0 at HT.
In the second half ADAM came in at right defence and JAMIE dropped into the goalkeeping role, COOKIE came on and a couple of changes to the line up were made!!HARRY then made it 6 nil when finishing off a lovely ball from RONAN and everything was looking great..... BUT when chasing back with a Faringdon player there was a coming together! PENALTY to Faringdon!!! which was dispatched and SCOTT apparently had to walk!!!!!!(very very harsh).
With only 10 players on the pitch and still 25 minutes left to play Cumnor were content to see time out but unfortunately conceded again, DOM then came on for the final 15 minutes and scored when a he finished off after nice through ball from TOM. FT 7-2.

Not Cumnors prettiest performance but a win is a win and a game against Grove (away) in the next round as their reward, and gives the boys more confidence to carry on with their very impressive league form next weekend..........bring on the Blewbury

Man of the Match:- MATTHEW for two well taken goals and all round performance.
